Industry insiders suggest there may be a shortage of PC´s and laptops as many components are in short supply. This could spark a PC Parts shortages this Christmas. Prices of PC´s and laptops are already rising and the big stores are already running low on the lower priced offerings.
"Hard Drive" prices have recently skyrocketed in price, partly due to the Thai Floods and partly the world financial climate which between them caused the prices of HDDs to double over the past couple of weeks. The floods in Thailand have hit a major manufacturer of a key HDD components, and the knock on effect is hard drive and storage product prices worldwide have shot up by anywhere between 40 and 127 per cent. Foreign exchange rates have also played their part.
Prices are still fluctuating wildly and many suppliers have even stopped selling hard drives or have prices that are listed at double the price they were two months ago.
So I suggest if you are in the market for a new PC or Laptop in English this Christmas holiday “LOOK NOW”
